About Course

Welcome to the Milly Mini AI Course

In this lesson, we introduce Milly Mini AI, a desktop AI agent robot, and walk through the basic setup and orientation of FreeCAD, the CAD tool used throughout this course.

This is a high-level introduction designed to prepare you for hands-on building in the next lesson.

What You’ll Learn

– What the Milly Mini AI project is and what we’ll be building

– How this course is structured from start to finish

– How to download and open FreeCAD

– How to navigate the FreeCAD interface

How to view and understand an existing robot model

Milly Mini AI Overview

Milly Mini AI is a desktop AI agent robot designed for classrooms, desks, and labs. It serves as an entry point for learning AI agents, robotics design, and hands-on hardware development.

Throughout this course, we’ll connect:

– AI software concepts

– CAD-based hardware design

– Real, physical robot construction

FreeCAD Basics (Orientation Only)

In this lesson, we are not building from scratch yet.

Instead, we focus on:

– Opening FreeCAD for the first time

– Understanding the basic layout and tools

– Loading and navigating an existing robot model

– Seeing how parts, bodies, and assemblies are organized

– Understanding how CAD models translate into real hardware

This approach mirrors how real robotics teams work — reviewing existing designs before modifying or rebuilding them.

What’s Next

In the next lesson, FreeCAD Part 1, we will start from a blank project and begin building the robot model step by step from scratch.

Make sure you have FreeCAD installed and ready before moving on.
